The third generation of BMW's South Carolina-built sports car (counting the original Z3) is due in 2009, and it looks like it'll arrive with more handsome styling and better proportions. The Z4 apparently will eschew the vario-roof convertible hardtop design adapted by the current 3 Series and maintain a folding softtop.
