2008 BMW X5

In order to better separate the X5 from the smaller X3, the second generation of BMW's big SUV will be 6.5 inches longer and 2.4 inches wider than its predecessor. The extra girth has allowed BMW to engineer an optional third-row seat, primarily as a concession to the American market. The tech whizbangery will include night vision, radar cruise control, a head-up display, and an SMG-style joystick for gear selection, plus a chassis more active than a hummingbird on meth. Active steering, active damping, and active roll compensation all will be available.
