This is the ragtop version of the handsome new TT coupe, and, unlike the first TT, the roof surgery has been kinder to the looks. The new TT Roadster will appear with the 200-horsepower, 2.0-liter FSI turbo four and the 250-horsepower, 3.2-liter V-6.

Audi rejected a folding metal top to make the TT a "pure" roadster. Cloth versus the hardtop also results in a lower center of gravity.Cloth top has steel and aluminum reinforcements and a glass rear window and folds in a "Z" with the front section covering the cloth when the top is open.Power top is standard with the V-6, optional with the FSI four. It can be opened at speeds up to 30 mph.As on the coupe, an electric-powered rear spoiler pops up at 75 mph.Length is up 5.4 inches, to 164.5 inches, width is 72.5 inches, up 3.1, and height is 53.5 inches, up 0.3 inch. Interior and trunk space are improved."Baseball" leather is again available.With its space frame and 58-percent-aluminum body, the 2.0 FSI weighs 2900 pounds.
