2013 GMC Yukon Review

Vehicle Overview

The 2013 GMC Yukon full-size SUV offers seating for up to nine passengers, and enough cargo room for all necessities. With a comfortable ride and great interior styling, the GMC Yukon remains at the top of the list when it comes to full-size SUVs. Powered by a 5.3-liter V-8 engine, the 2013 Yukon delivers 320 horsepower and 15/21 mpg city/highway. Other engine options include a 6.2-liter V-8 and a 6.0-liter V-8/electric-hybrid engine.

Inside the 2013 Yukon are high-quality materials, with a simple control layout and an available navigation system. The front seats are comfortable, with the back seats versatile. Both the first and second rows can fit two to three passengers, depending on the configuration, and the third row comes standard on all models, although it may be cramped for taller passengers and doesn't fold flat. The GMC Yukon is available in four models: the Yukon, Yukon Denali, Yukon Hybrid, and Yukon Denali Hybrid; the Yukon XL only has two available models, the Yukon XL and Yukon XL Denali. Trim levels for each include the SLE and SLT.

Standard features for the 2013 Yukon include roof rails, automatic headlights, heated outside mirrors, six-way power front bucket seats with manual recline, leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel, Bluetooth, OnStar communications, satellite radio, and a nine-speaker Bose audio system. The SLT model includes foglamps, leather upholstery, rear parking sensors, remote engine start, rearview camera, and power-adjustable pedals. The Denali models feature automatic damping suspension, unique styling cues, interior sound insulation, blind spot warning, as well as heated and ventilated eight-way power front seats, second row captain's chairs, and navigation.

Available options for SLE models include a 40/20/40-split three-person front bench seat, and a Convenience package that adds rear parking sensors, remote engine start, rearview camera with mirror display, and power-adjustable pedals. Options for the SLT include an Off-Road Suspension package, heated eight-way power front seats, ventilated front seats, second row captain's chairs, and a navigation system. Standard features on higher trim levels can be optioned on lower trim levels, with a sunroof and rear seat entertainment system is optional on all models.
