The 2008 HUMMER H3 SUV offers all of the rugged strength and macho styling of the H2, but in a smaller package that makes it a more attractive when it comes to parallel parking and navigating city streets.
Base power for the H3 comes from a 3.7-liter inline-5 that produces 242 horsepower. New for 2008 is an Alpha package that is highlighted by a 300 horsepower 5.3 liter V8. Both engines come with a 4-speed automatic transmission that sends power to full time 4 wheel drive. The smaller engine choice has the availability of a 5-speed manual transmission.
Highway fuel consumption is 16 miles per gallon for the V8 and 18 miles per gallon for the inline-5. Both engines get 13 miles per gallon city.
The new Alpha package also includes improved interior trim, a Monsoon sound system, and chrome wheels and trim.
Base price for the 2008 HUMMER H3 is $30,595. The more powerful H3 Alpha costs around $39,000. All H3's come with 5-year, 100,000-mile power train warranty.
