2010 Infiniti EX35 Review

Great luxury and sport for the price but don't expect a lot of cargo space

Reviewed by Automotive on

In a Nutshell
The 2010 Infiniti EX35 is a compact luxury crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV) that's stylish as well as sporty. Powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 297 horsepower paired to a five-speed automatic transmission, the Infiniti EX35 offers rear- or all-wheel drive. The crossover's major drawbacks are that it has only 28.5-inches of legroom, a cargo capacity of 16.8 cubic feet, and 5.7-inch ground clearance.

On the plus side, the Infiniti EX35 is priced well for a luxury crossover with excellent driving ability, including great handling, zesty acceleration, and agreeable ride. The crossover also boasts sleek styling, a luxurious cabin, and the versatility of a hatchback. Excellent standard safety systems allow the EX35 to achieve top-notch safety ratings. EPA fuel economy is rated in the 16 mpg city / 23 mpg highway range.

New for 2010

The 2010 Infiniti EX35 is a carryover from the previous year. Among the few upgrades are heated outside mirrors, standard auto on/off headlamps, and a USB connection port. Other revisions include heated front seats on the EX35 AWD, Bluetooth on the Journey, and navigation as an option. The hard-drive navigation system was upgraded to include Bluetooth streaming audio, XM NavWeather, and a Zagat restaurant guide.

On the Outside

Featuring a coupe-like roofline and aggressive proportions highlighted by a long hood, short overhangs, and rearward cabin, the Infiniti EX35 measures 182.3 inches long and only 61.9 inches tall. As a result, the EX35 is more compact than most in its class.

From the Inside

Inside, the Infiniti EX35 crossover features leather, black lacquer and aluminum trim, satellite radio, and iPod connectivity as standard. Maple wood trim, navigation, and Around View Monitor, which displays a 360-degree view around the vehicle, are optional.

Driving Performance

Equipped with a 3.5-liter 297-horsepower 253-pound-foot V-6 engine paired to a five-speed automatic transmission, the Infiniti EX35 is rear-wheel drive, unless fitted with the optional ATTESA E-TS all-wheel-drive system. With front control-arm suspension and a rear multilink setup, the EX35 delivers an excellent ride and body control, on the standard 17-inch wheels or optional 18-inch wheels. The EX35 runs the zero-to-sixty in only 6.5 seconds and travels a quarter mile in 14.9 seconds at a speed of 94.5 mph. Since it has a 123-foot sixty-to-zero stopping distance and 0.81 g of lateral gap, the EX35 handles and brakes like a sport sedan.

Safety Equipment

Standard safety systems on the 2010 Infiniti EX35 include driver and passenger front airbags, front side and side curtain airbags, stability and traction control, and anti-lock brakes with brake assist.
