2011 Infiniti M37 Review

Luxury sedan takes it up a notch

Reviewed by Automotive on

In a Nutshell
The 2011 Infiniti M37 is a luxury sedan and the flagship offering of the car maker. Equipped with a 3.7 liter V-6 engine with 330 horsepower and coupled to a 7-speed automatic transmission, the Infiniti M37 offers all-wheel drive. Wider and longer than earlier versions, the sedan hosts 20-inch alloy wheels in the popular sport package.

The interior of the Infiniti M37 is attractive, luxurious, and well-designed. The M37 sedan has a user-friendly center console and 10.3 cubic-feet of cabin space, accented by premium woods and leathers. With excellent driving manners, the Infiniti M37 performs powerfully and efficiently, thanks in part to its 7-speed automatic. Standard safety features are among the best in the industry, and fuel economy is above average with 18 mpg city/26 mpg highway.

New for 2011

With upgraded styling inside and out, virtually every aspect of the 2011 Infiniti M37 is new, including more powerful engines, improved fuel efficiency, and more advanced technology features. Thanks to a 330-horsepower V-6 and 420-horsepower V-8 to choose from, the Infiniti M37 is the fastest yet, and with a standard seven-speed automatic transmission, more fuel efficient. A new air-conditioning feature and blind-spot intervention improve the package.

From the Inside

Super soft leather, a suede-like headliner, and hand-buffed ash wood trim stand out as a new deluxe touring package. Optional Forest Air air-conditioning adds humidity control, automated air recirculation, and a breeze mode that alternates airflow.

Driving Performance

The 2011 Infiniti M37 is equipped with a 330-horsepower V-6 engine goes from 0-to-60 in 5.3 seconds and gets fuel economy of 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway. The sport package's steering wheel-mounted magnesium shift paddles and larger Akebono brakes are popular features. Coming standard is a new four-mode Infiniti Drive system, with standard, economy, sport, and snow selections.

Safety Equipment

Most significant on the M37 is the Infiniti's Safety Shield, which is the world's first blind-spot intervention system for selective braking to pull the car back into its lane when necessary. Also included are safety systems that provide lane-departure warning, lane-departure prevention, intelligent cruise control, and distance control assist.
