New For 2013
For this year, the Infiniti M56 introduces several new packages that are available among a host of new features:
- The Sport Package, available for all-wheel-drive vehicles, adds 20-inch wheels, improved brakes and suspension, and a different front design
- The Premium Package includes telematics system to unlock doors remotely and rear sonar among other features
- The Performance Tire and Wheel Package includes larger brakes, 20-inch rims, and performance tires
Standing taller than the previous generation’s model, the Infiniti M56 incorporates the curves of the G37 sedan. The M56 can come in one of six colors, including Liquid Platinum, Malbec Black, and Platinum Graphite. Standard exterior features include 18-inch alloy wheels with optional 20-inch wheels, heated and power-folding exterior mirrors, Xenon high-intensity discharge headlights, a power glass sunroof with remote operation, and variable intermittent rain-sensing wipers. Exterior options available include splash guards, a Midnight Black grille, and a rear deck lid spoiler.
Interior & Cargo
The interior of the 2013 Infiniti M56 includes a vast assortment of convenience, power, and comfort features. The M56 features six available interior colors, including Java, Graphite, and Stone. Also included is leather seating with eight-way power and height-adjustable driver and front passenger seating, driver and passenger power-adjustable lumbar support, and multi-level heating for the driver’s seat. Standard interior features include cruise control, a front and overhead console with storage, rear parking sensors, audio and cruise controls on the steering wheel, retained power accessory, front seatback storage, a universal remote transmitter, and a rearview camera. As far as comfort is concerned, the M56 offers driver and passenger climate controls, front and rear reading lights, wood trim on the dash, a leather and alloy heated steering wheel, leather trim on the shift knob, dual-illuminating vanity mirrors, an electrochromatic rearview mirror, a trunk light, and interior air filtration.
The Infiniti M56 also includes a trip computer, a tachometer, an external temperature display, a standard AM/FM sound system with a CD player and six speakers, remote power door locks, remote window operation, two one-touch power windows, and reverse-tilt dual mirrors that offer a view of the curb when reversing. Standard technology features include Bluetooth wireless hands-free calling, a navigation system, and real time traffic. Available options include illuminated kick plates, Bose speakers, and a carpeted trunk mat.
The 2013 Infiniti M56 offers a wide range of standard safety features, including four-wheel anti-lock brake systems (ABS), front and rear airbags, dual front side-mounted airbags, a remote anti-theft alarm system, stability control, traction control, two front and three rear headrests, a post-collision safety system, a tire pressure monitoring system, an emergency interior trunk release, electronic brake force distribution, auto delay off and dusk-sensing headlamps, fog lights, an engine immobilizer, rear-door child safety locks, child seat anchors, a rear center three-point belt, front seatbelt pre-tensioners, Xenon high-intensity discharge headlamps, and a driver and passenger head restraint whiplash protection system.
The Infiniti M56 includes a standard 5.6-liter V-8 which produces 420 horsepower (hp) and 417 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with a seven-speed automatic transmission, the M56 offers Infiniti Drive, which allows drivers to program drivetrain settings to cope with different driving conditions on the road, including Normal, Sport, Economy, and Snow modes. The M56 also includes a sport-tuned suspension for improved performance. Equipped with an all-wheel-drive system, the Infiniti M56X performs even better than before. Steering can be a bit heavy, though the high-quality suspension eases maneuvering on curvy roads. The M56 provides a quiet ride with excellent acceleration when driving. Fuel economy for the M56 comes in at 16/24 mpg city/highway, with the all-wheel-drive version getting slightly less on the highway at 23 mpg.
