2013 Infiniti QX56 Review

Reviewed by Automotive on

Vehicle Overview

The 2013 Infiniti QX56 full-size luxury SUV is now in its third model year, continuing to sell well. Although gas mileage isn't as high as some of its competitors, the QX56 offers surprising acceleration and a luxurious interior to meet every comfort need. Powered by a 5.6-liter V-8 engine, the QX56 produces 400 horsepower and an EPA-estimated 14/20 mpg city/highway. These numbers are not bad when considering the Infiniti QX56 weighs nearly three tons. The 2013 Infiniti QX56 is only available in one model.

Infiniti took a different approach when designing the interior of the 2013 QX56, wanting it to look like an executive jet. Buttons and other controls clutter up the center stack, but it remains orderly and clean. Wood trim frames the dashboard, and the seats are comfortable and wrapped in soft leather. This full-size SUV offers seating for up to eight passengers and tow a total of 8,500 pounds when needed. The QX65 comes with captain's chairs in the second row, but can be switched out for bench seats, if constantly travelling with more than four passengers.

Standard features for the 2013 Infiniti QX56 include bi-xenon headlights, foglights, heated power-folding mirrors, sunroof, running boards, rear privacy glass, power liftgate, front and rear parking sensors, keyless entry and ignition, leather upholstery, heated driver seat, 360-degree parking camera, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and power tilt and telescopic heated steering wheel. Bluetooth, navigation, and a 13-speaker Bose sound system are also standard. The Theater package adds rear seat dual-screen entertainment, 120-volt power outlet, and heated second row seats. The Deluxe Touring package adds Infiniti's Hydraulic Body Motion Control suspension, headlight washers, an upgraded climate control with air filters, heated and ventilated front seats, upgraded leather upholstery, unique wood trim, and an upgraded Bose audio system. The Technology package includes adaptive headlights, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, as well as other safety features to avoid accidents.

New for 2013

The 2013 Infiniti QX56 now offers standard auto-dimming exterior mirrors, Motion Object Detection has been added to the Around View monitor, an upgraded remote control and interface have been added to the Theater package, and the exterior color Smoky Quartz replaces Mountain Sage.
