Overview

The 1996 Jaguar XJ6 is a midrange offering in the XJ-Series and offers many standard features that were formerly only included with the Luxury Package. Well-reputed for it style and luxury, it certainly delivers, and also makes for an exhilarating and smooth drive.

What's New

The 1996 Jaguar XJ6 is equipped with thicker side windows, which reduces wind noise for passengers. Additional new features include bucket seats, more chrome on the exterior trim, adjustable wood-trimmed steering wheel, and improved wheels.

Exterior

The 1996 Jaguar XJ6 embodies the classic Jaguar design for sedans including all the sleek lines and exquisite curves of its predecessors. This four-door sedan offers headed power door mirrors, a rear window defroster, and power sunroof. It also features 16-inch alloy wheels and tinted glass. Several excellent options, including chrome wheels, traction control, and special factory paint, are available as well.

Interior

Sitting in the 1996 Jaguar XJ6 gives the driver an appreciation for Jaguar luxury. The 12-way driver and passenger bucket seats are wrapped in premium Autolux leather upholstery, and the dash is ergonomically designed. Performance & Handling

The 1996 Jaguar XJ6 offers the superior performance and handling. Equipped with a hefty 4.0-liter V-6, this large sedan gets excellent road performance and produces 245 hp at 4800 rpm and provides 289 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. The fuel economy is average for an engine of this size. Longer rear springs augment the already smooth handling.

Safety

Safety features for the 1996 Jaguar XJ6 include driver and passenger front airbags, four-wheel anti-lock brake systems (ABS), front fog lights, a front anti-roll bar, fully automatic headlamps with delay-off, and an anti-theft alarm system.
