The existence of the Jaguar XJ and the XF makes the XK the oldest car offered by the carmaker. The XK is just four years old in its present generation. This vehicle is one of the few British Roadsters that remain. It is appealing to behold, and throughout its history so far, it has gotten many improvements.
The XK does retain its competitiveness but it still struggles because it has aging style. Unlike other competing models, the XK is offered with no alternatives other than the automatic transmission. What's more, it has older entertainment features and a substandard navigation system offering.
The XK Jaguar for the 2010 year has several enhancements. The car buyer can choose from one of the two V-8 engines that are offered. The car has improved exterior and interior elements as well. This car stands as a serious leader in the car segment to date. The cabin quality is fantastic after major enhancements have been made. What's New
The most important changes to the 2010 Jaguar XK range come under the hood, where the old 4.2-liter V-8 engines have been replaced with Jaguar's more powerful 5.0-liter V-8s, again in naturally-aspirated and supercharged trim. Bodywork is updated slightly, as is the interior, which gets the electronic JaguarDrive Select gear selection knob from the XF sedan.
Exterior
The XK faithfully carries the flag of the classic British roadster and minor styling updates keep the body relatively fresh. Improvements include new front and rear valances and new LED taillights.
Interior
The XK's interior continues to improve and spices things up with the slick electronic gear selector. Jaguar's clunky touch screen infotainment system is standard, as are a premium stereo, leather and automatic climate control.
Performance & Handling
Two new 5.0-liter V-8 engines replace the XK's prior engine options and offer more power, a respectable 385 horsepower in naturally-aspirated trim and a stout 510 horsepower for the supercharged XKR. The transmission is programmed to be smooth for touring duty but has a sport setting. Fuel economy doesn't suffer compared to the last model and handling is further refined.
Safety
Front, side and thorax airbags are standard on the XK for both the driver and passenger. Electronic stability and traction control, Corner Brake Control, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Emergency Brake Assist and now Understeer Logic Control are all standard.
