Performance & Handling
The Jaguar XKR comes equipped with a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 engine and a six-speed shiftable automatic transmission. It generates 510 hp and can go from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
The Adaptive Dynamics and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) systems instantly adjust the suspension based on speed, steering, and road conditions to improve ride comfort and handling. The DSC detects any wheel slippage and adjusts accordingly. If you prefer, you can use the Trac DSC setting to allow for some slipping and overspin if you prefer a sportier ride or are drive the car with snow chains.
The XK Coupe base model contains a 5.0-liter, 385 hp V-8 engine and a six-speed shiftable automatic transmission with Jaguar Sequential Shift. It accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 5.0 seconds. The shift system provides fast ear changes with excellent performance. Gears can be shifted manually from the paddle shifters that are mounted behind the steering wheel.
The XKR includes Active Differential, which provides excellent traction by detecting slipping and varying the power supplied to each wheel to keep the car stable. The Jaguar High Performance Braking System provides additional sensitivity and control. The XKR and XKR175 feature the distinctive red brake calipers. The XKR175 touts a top speed of 174 mph.
The Aerodynamic Pack, Black Pack, Speed Pack, and Dynamic Pack further customize your driving experience.
The automatic transmission’s JaguarDrive Selector activates as soon as the Start button is pressed. The driver can turn the selector to the desired driving mode (Sport or Drive). JaguarDrive Control lets you select the Dynamic setting for responsive acceleration or use the Winter setting for more progressive control when road conditions get slippery.
The four-wheel ABS (Antilock Braking System) is enhanced by Emergency Brake Assist, which activates if the ABS senses a hard application of the brakes. This stops the car more quickly without interfering with steering control.
