The aluminum body of the XK comes painted in a clear monotone paint. The grille trim is chrome in the base models, black with chrome surround in the XKR models, and black in the XKR-S models. The windows are lightly tinted and the antenna is concealed. The exterior mirrors are power, heated, and auto-dimming.
The base and XKR models come with silver aluminum wheels and a lip spoiler, while the XKR-S models come with grey forged aluminum wheels and a wing spoiler. A spare compact aluminum wheel is included as a standard feature on the base and XKR models, and available as an option on the XKR-S models.
Interior & Cargo
The 2013 Jaguar XK comes standard with dual-zone front automatic air-conditioning. An air filter is included to help purify air within the cabin. The coupe models have power front windows and fixed rear windows, while the convertible models have power front and rear windows. Front seats are bucket seats in the base and XKR models, and sport seats in the XKR-S models. Both front seats are twelve-way power-adjustable and heated, and include lumbar support and memory functionality. The base and XKR models also have standard cooled front seats. Rear seats are bench-style seats and all seats are upholstered in leather.
Other standard features include a voice-activated cell phone, a driver information center with exterior temperature display, a trip computer, and a tilting leather steering wheel.
Entertainment features for the XK include an audio system with an AM/FM/Satellite radio with seek-scan, a six-disc CD player, and eight brand speakers. This audio system is MP3-capable and accepts auxiliary audio input and Bluetooth functionality. There are audio controls on the steering wheel, and the amplifier is premium. Also included is a navigation system and one first-row LCD screen.
Since the XK is not a sedan, it doesn’t have as much storage space as the XJ – its sedan counterpart. However, it does come standard with a full floor console, mini overhead console, lighted glove box, seatback storage pockets, and a cargo net. The XJ has a maximum luggage volume of 11.1 cubic feet. If the rear seat is not folded down, though, the luggage volume goes down to 7.1 cubic feet.
The Jaguar XK comes equipped with front- and side-impact airbags, which come with an occupant-sensing system. Anti-lock brakes and driveline traction control are standard. Brake assist is also included as a standard feature. The front seatbelts are height adjustable in the coupe and come with pre-tensioners in both coupe and convertible models. Other standard safety features include daytime running lights, cornering lights, fog lights, LED brake lights, and parking assist. Directionally-adaptive headlights are optional for the base models and standard on the XKR and XKR-S models. The windshield wipers are variable intermittent and rain-sensing.
The security system for the XK includes a keyless access system, panic alarm, ignition disable, and a content theft-deterrent alarm. The XK warns the driver when the fuel level is low, when the tire pressure is low, or when it is time for the vehicle to be serviced.
The 2013 Jaguar XK comes equipped with one of three 5.0-liter, V-8 engines coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and auto-manual. The first engine, which comes on the base models, is capable of producing 385 horsepower (hp) and 380 lb-ft of torque. This engine has a fuel economy of 16/22 mpg city/highway. The second engine, which comes equipped on the XKR models, is capable of producing 510 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque. This engine has a fuel economy of 15/22 mpg city/highway. Finally, the last engine- which is equipped on the XKR-S models, is capable of producing 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. This engine also has a fuel economy of 15/22 mpg city/highway. The XKR and XKR-S engines come with an intercooled supercharger.
All XK models are rear-wheel-drive and utilize rack-and-pinion steering. The steering is speed-sensitive. This car utilizes an independent front suspension, which is supported by regular shocks and coil springs. The XK uses a short and long arm rear suspension, which is also supported by regular shocks and coil springs. The suspension is sport-tuned and is adaptive. An electronic stability system and Tiptronic automatic come standard. Locking/limited slip differential comes standard for the XKR and XKR-S models, but not the base models. Cruise control is standard for all models, with adaptive cruise control available as an option on the base and XKR models.
