The Commander is exactly what you'd expect from Jeep Motors: comfortable, roomy on the inside, and powerful as hell. The 2010 Commander boasts a V6 motor, giving it a ton of power for great off-roading trips. Personally, I have owned one of these cars since they were released, and I could not be any happier. I've gotten good mileage every tank (between 18 and 20 mpg).
The only thing I would advise people of is that sometimes they can get messy without you knowing. Because of how roomy the car is, it's easy to have a bunch of your stuff stored in there and suddenly the whole thing is full. Additionally, the seats aren't always the most comfortable. Sometimes after long trips to the beach, etc., I will find that my lower back hurts. Outside of minor complaints about how dirty it can get and the seat quality, there isn't too much that I would change about this car-based SUV.
Overall, it is a good car for anyone who is looking for a good road trip car, or a family car that is roomy and won't have the whole family crammed like sardines in a can when you're going on a long trip. The mileage is about what you can expect from a Jeep or a non-hybrid, and I've had a few tanks go over 22 mpg!
