Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Pros
Cons
In 2010 my husband and I were shopping for a larger vehicle and decided on the Jeep Compass. A close friend had recently purchased the same vehicle and highly recommended it to us. The look of the car appealed to us and it had all of the features that we were looking for. We were also able to get a good deal on it. While the Compass is a larger vehicle it's considered a crossover rather than a full-sized SUV. Ours has a 4-cylinder engine, which is a fact that is both good and bad. On the plus side, the gas mileage is decent, although obviously not as good as a smaller vehicle. On the other hand, the 4-cylinder engine noticeably affects the car's power. My husband and I regularly drive the Compass up a pretty large hill on the highway by our house and it does have some difficulty maintaining a reasonable speed when going up the hill. My husband and I have both driven the car through light snow accumulations and have found it to handle well. However, I don't think that this is a vehicle that would be good for off-road driving or trying to navigate much more than 2-3 inches of snow. My husband is quite tall and the car is comfortable inside and offers enough legroom for him to travel comfortably. Other than the lack of power my husband and I have had no issues with the car. Aside from regular maintenance our Jeep hasn't spent any time in the shop over the last two years. The ride is smooth and the vehicle handles well even in poor weather conditions. I would recommend it to those that are looking for a larger vehicle without sacrificing affordable gas mileage.
