Redesigned in 2005, the 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee continues its run as a successful 5-passenger mid-size, upscale SUV.
Engines available include a 210 horsepower 3.7 liter V6, 235 horsepower 4.7 liter V8, 330 horsepower 5.7 liter V8, and a 420 horsepower 6.1 liter V8. All engines are linked to a 5-speed automatic transmission and a selection of drive systems, from its versatile Quadra-Drive Two setup for both on and off-road duties to basic two wheel drive.
Available trims are Laredo, Limited, Overland, and the SRT8. Standard features on all models include 4 wheel anti-lock brakes, 17 inch wheels, and 60/40 folding rear seats. Available on the Limited are leather interior, traction control, and heated second row seats. The SRT8 comes with 20 inch wheels and the 6.1 liter HEMI V8 standard.
Mileage ranges from 22 miles per gallon, highway in the 3.7 liter to 12 miles per gallon, city in the 3.1 liter.
