The
2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a sport utility vehicle (SUV) with three available trim levels: Laredo Sport Utility, Limited Sport Utility, SRT8 Sport Utility. While the Laredo and Limited trims come with a standard 3.7-liter V6 engine or optionally a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine, the high-performance SRT8 trim has a 6.1-liter V8 engine. A five-speed automatic is the only available transmission. A properly equipped Grand Cherokee has a tow capacity of 7,400 pounds.
Sporting smooth lines and mild curves, the Jeep Grand Cherokee retains Jeep's brawny look, but its interior is attractive, comfortable, user friendly, and well designed with quality material. With superior handling and driving manners, the Grand Cherokee is a nice ride on or off the highway. Safety ratings on the Grand Cherokee are adequate, and so is its fuel economy at 15 mpg city / 20 mpg highway.
New for 2010
For 2010, the Jeep Grand Cherokee dismisses the Overland trim, as well as the 4.7-liter V-8 and diesel engine options. There is also some minor shuffling of features among the three remaining trim levels.

On the Outside
While the 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee still has the rough and rugged looks of a Jeep, its lines have definitely softened. The SRT8 trim actually has a mean street car look, complete with dual exhaust pipes.
From the Inside
The Jeep Grand Cherokee definitely has a higher quality interior compared to many of its brethren, and the leather seats are quite comfortable but a bit cramped in the back.
Driving Performance
Standard on the Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and Limited trims is a 3.7-liter V-6 engine generating 210 horsepower and 235 pound-feet of torque, while the 5.7-liter V-8 engine with 357 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque is an option. However, the SRT8 trim gets the high performance 6.1-liter V-8 engine churning out 420 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque.
Safety Equipment
Standard safety features on the Jeep Grand Cherokee includes 4-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS), dual front & curtain first and second row overhead airbags, airbag occupancy sensor, stability and traction control, and roll over detection system, while trailer sway control is an option on the Laredo and Limited trims.
