2011 Kia Sedona Review

Taking it up a notch in critical areas

Reviewed by Automotive on

In a Nutshell
The 2011 Kia Sedona is a minivan with a lot of cargo room and plenty of passenger space. Powered by a 3.5 liter V-6 engine churning out 271 horsepower coupled to a five speed automatic transmission, the Kia Sedona minivan is offered with either a short or long wheelbase. The short wheelbase is 113.8 inches, while the longer variation is 118.9 inches in length. If you buy the long wheelbase configuration, you get 20 cubic feet more cargo space.

The Kia Sedona offers plenty of safety equipment, including stability/traction control, antilock brakes, tire pressure monitoring system, and six airbags. NHTSA has given the Sedona minivan a five-star crash testing rating. The Sedona might not make for eye candy when viewing its exterior, but it's not controversial either. And with an EPA fuel economy rating of 18 mpg city/25 mpg highway, it's good on gas.

New for 2011

For 2011, the Kia Sedona received a new 3.5 liter V-6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission to replace the previous year's five-speed automatic. The result is a fuel economy improvement of 2 mpg on the highway. In addition, the Sedona got an update on the signature Kia grille, new wheel designs, and new technology features in the interior.
