2011 Lamborghini Gallardo Review

A wild and crazy sports car with ferocious power

Reviewed by Automotive on

In a Nutshell
The 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo is a fabulous sports car that comes in coupe and convertible body styles and has all of the panache and power you'd ever want in a car. Sporting a 5.2-liter V-10 engine with 552 horsepower, twin cam, mid mounted engine, the Gallardo has all-wheel drive but also hosts rear-drive components providing impressive power when you press the gas pedal.

The Gallardo is a beautiful sports car designed to be appealing to the eye as well as providing an exhilarating drive. It is everything one expects in a sports car formula -- fast paced, aggressive, and handsome. With the superb safety systems you'd expect, the Gallardo gets a manly 12 mpg city / 20 mpg 20 highway in gas mileage.

New for 2011

For the 2011 model year, Lamborghini Gallardo unveiled a special, limited Superleggera "super light" edition which drops 154 pounds off the base trim, while bumping output to 562 horsepower and adding other performance-enhancing features as well.

Driving Performance

The base LP560-4 absolutely screams, reaching 60 mph in less than four seconds and gunning to a top speed of 200 mph. The lighter, more potent Superleggera edition is even faster. Standard on the Lamborghini Gallardo are adaptive, mega-grip suspension and monster Brembo brakes, while an E-Gear paddle-shift auto-clutch six-speed is optional.
