A luxury vehicle that delivers on every level, the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport features a host of great interior and exterior features, excellent options, solid safety equipment, lots of style, and high performance. Geared towards luxury and sophistication, the Range Rover Sport doesn’t slack when it comes to its driving experience, offering power and acceleration which surpasses its competitors. Available with several packages to customize the vehicle, the 2013 Range Rover Sport continues its tradition of style and high performance.
New For 2013
A couple of minor changes accompany the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport this year:
- A brand new special-edition model, the Supercharged, is introduced which includes cosmetic upgrades
- A new tow package option has been made available
A large sport utility vehicle, the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is available in two models. Both models include a rear spoiler, a manual flip-up liftgate window, and a rear power liftgate door. The Range Rover Sport HSE comes equipped with standard 19-inch wheels, a sunroof, fog lights, power-folding external mirrors, bi-xenon headlights, automatic wipers, keyless entry, a power tailgate, and front and rear parking sensors. The optional Luxury Package includes a few exterior upgrades such as 20-inch wheels, a heated windshield, and heated washer jets.
As if that wasn't enough, the Range Rover Sport Supercharged model is equipped with all the basic exterior features that the HSE comes with, though the optional Autobiography Package offers adaptive headlights and automatic high beams, as well as better wheels, grille, and exterior treatments and a rear roof spoiler. Both models of the Range Rover Sport feature a choice of 10 different exterior colors, including Nara Bronze Metallic, Siberian Silver, and Firenze Red Metallic.
Interior & Cargo
Both models of the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport offer an extensive list of interior accessories, just as you'd expect with this type of luxury vehicle. Available as standard features, in the way of comfort the Range Rover Sport offers interior air filtration; driver and passenger climate control; a cargo area light; alloy, leather, and wood trim on the doors, dash, and center console; front reading lights; alloy and leather trim on the shift knob; a leather steering wheel; front and rear floor mats; an electrochromatic rearview mirror; and dual illuminating vanity mirrors. The Range Rover Sport comes equipped with leather seating, captain’s chairs for the front, a driver’s seat with power-adjustable lumbar support, and eight-way power and height-adjustable driver and passenger seats. Power features include remote power door locks, four one-touch power windows, remote window operation, and a reverse tilt passenger mirror for an enhanced view of the curb while reversing.
Several convenience features come standard on the Range Rover Sport, including cruise control, a front console with storage, front door pockets, front and rear cup holders, front seatback storage, retained power accessory, speed-proportional power steering, a universal remote transmitter, audio and cruise controls on the steering wheel, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, and a rearview camera.
There are plenty of high-tech gadgets as well. Entertainment features include an AM/FM audio system with CD, DVD, and MP3 playback with 11 speakers, auxiliary input with iPod integration, a subwoofer, and USB connection. Other interior features include a trip computer, a compass, a tachometer, real-time traffic, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, and a navigation system. Interior features available as options include ebony headliner, a rear-seat entertainment system, and satellite/HD digital radio. A wide selection of interior colors and schemes are available for both models of the Range Rover Sport as well. The Range Rover Sport Supercharged comes with a few extra goodies, including Sirius XM satellite radio, memorized settings for three drivers, a cooled storage compartment, transmission controls on the steering wheel, a 10-way power driver’s seat, multi-level heating for the driver and passenger seats, and optional adaptive cruise control. Both models also feature 71 cubic feet of cargo space.
The 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport comes with a long list of safety features, specially designed to keep all passengers safe and prevent rollovers. It is equipped with standard four-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS), front and rear head airbags, dual front side-mounted airbags, passenger airbag occupant-sensing deactivation, a post-collision safety system, two front headrests and three rear headrests which are all height adjustable, an engine immobilizer, fog lights, high-pressure washers on the headlamps, auto delay-off and dusk-sensing headlamps, xenon HID headlamps, a remote anti-theft alarm system, front and rear ventilated disc brakes, rear-door child safety locks, child seat anchors, tire pressure monitoring, emergency braking assist, stability control, traction control, electronic brakeforce distribution, a rear center three-point belt, front seat belt pretensioners, and ventilated front disc and solid rear disc brakes.
Packed with a hefty 5.0-liter V-8, the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport delivers a smooth ride and is perfect for urban dwelling. Ahead of its competitors in terms of performance, this engine produces 375 horsepower and 375 lb-ft of torque. Acceleration is excellent for such a large vehicle, going from zero to 60 mph in just 7.2 seconds. The supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 delivers a whopping 510 horsepower and 461 lb-ft of torque. It goes from zero to 60 mph in a mere 5.9 seconds. Both models include a six-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.
