The 2007 Lexus GS430 is a midsize sport sedan that seats five passengers in comfort and offers top-shelf performance and handling. Equipped with a 4.3-liter, 290-hp, V-8 engine and a six-speed shiftable automatic transmission, it is available in a single trim level and is only offered with rear-drive.

The Range

Body Styles: Sedan
Engines: 4.3-liter 290-hp V-8

What's New

New features include the option of shutting off the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system, new knee airbags, Pre-Collision System, and a six-speed shiftable automatic transmission.

The 2007 Lexus GS430 offers a long hood. Below the vertically-slatted grille is a large mesh intake vent. Four individual lights flank the grille, and a sweeping roofline ends at the short rear deck. Wraparound taillights and dual exhaust tips finish the overall look. Additional features include 18-inch alloy wheels and performance tires, variable intermittent wipers, power glass sunroof, remote anti-theft alarm system with engine immobilizer, daytime running lights, fog lights, auto delay off dusk-sensing Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights with self-leveling, and tire pressure monitoring. The 2007 Lexus GS430's total length is 190 inches with a 112.2-inch wheelbase.

The 2007 Lexus GS430 interior is quiet and refined. Offering seating for up to five, the Regency leather upholstery is luxurious, and wood accents add to the posh look. The seats are well-bolstered and comfortable. Legroom is adequate for full-sized adults, even in the back seat. The instruments and gauges are within easy reach of the driver and are easy to read and operate. To the left of the steering wheel is a drop-down panel that holds less frequently used buttons such as the power mirror adjuster and the interior lighting dimmer switch. The optional navigation system has a seven-inch LCD screen. The navigation system also includes Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera, parking assist, and voice activation.

Additional 2007 Lexus GS430 interior features include, power door locks, power windows, 10-way power driver and passenger seats with power heated lumbar support and height adjustment, bucket front seats, folding rear center armrest with pass-thru, rear ventilation ducts, cruise control, front console with storage, first aid kit, retained accessory power, electric speed-proportional power steering, keyless entry/ignition, universal remote transmitter, 12-volt power outlet, leather-wrapped tilt/telescoping steering wheel with audio and cruise control functions, interior charcoal air filter, dual-zone climate controls, wood/leather interior trim, auto-dimming rearview mirror, memory settings for three drivers, tachometer, trip computer, external temperature display, compass, pre-wired for cell phone use, Bluetooth connectivity, and 134-watt audio system with AM/FM/six-CD changer, 10 speakers, subwoofer, and radio data system.

Optional equipment includes ventilated front seats, a Mark Levinson DVD-audio sound system with LCD display, backup camera and navigation system, and an active stabilizer system

Performance & Handling

The 2007 Lexus GS430 is a pleasure to drive. Acceleration is quick, and handling is responsive. The 4.3-liter, V-8 engine generates 290-hp and 319 ft-lb of torque. The 2007 Lexus GS430 has been clocked at 5.7 seconds in a zero-to-60-mph sprint and remains at the top of its vehicle class in performance. The six-speed shiftable automatic transmission offers Normal, Snow, and Power modes; the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) can be turned off to allow the driver to put their driving ability to the test, bypassing the car’s pre-set stability control settings. A new Active Stabilizer enhances vehicle control during cornering.

Following consumer complaints, the default stability control system can now be bypassed, which allows drivers to test out the car’s performance and handling features.

2007 Lexus GS430 standard safety features include four-wheel independent double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspensions, front and rear stabilizer bars, four-wheel ABS, emergency braking assist, electronic brake force distribution, front and rear ventilated disc brakes, stability control, traction control, front knee airbags, side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags. The optional PCS is available.
