2011 Lexus RX350 Review

Excellent value for comfort and reliability but still boring

Reviewed by Automotive on

In a Nutshell
The 2011 Lexus RX 350 is a luxury crossover/sport utility vehicle (SUV) that seats five passengers comfortably in an ultra-quiet cabin. Equipped with a 3.5 liter V-6 275 horsepower engine paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission, the RX 350 is a very attractive all wheel drive vehicle that is reliable and easy to drive.

Some of the cool features of the Lexus RX 350 are the remote touch controller and navigation system. Its range of standard safety equipment and systems is truly impressive. When you consider the exterior and interior features you get, the RX 350 is an excellent value. Its EPA-rated fuel economy is 18 mpg city/24 mpg highway.

New for 2011

The latest generation of the RX 350 came out in 2010, so there were very few changes for 2011. However, the Lexus RX 350 did receive a new brake override system and some new exterior colors, and the 12-volt power outlet was moved to a more convenient location.

Essentials

Engine: 3.5L V-6
Transmission: 6-speed automatic
Body Style: SUV
Trim: Base Sport Utility

On the Outside

The 2011 Lexus RX 350 has crisper and cleaner looks than the model it replaced, but it still appears very traditional. It comes with 18-inch wheels as standard and 19-inch wheels are optional.

From the Inside

Coming standard on the Lexus RX 350 are 10-way power adjustable seats driver and front passenger, real wood trim, and leather accents. Nine-speaker audio and Bluetooth are also standard, while the cool remote touch mouse is optional.

Driving Performance

A smooth riding, competent vehicle, the Lexus RX 350 won't raise your pulse much over its driving dynamics. Despite the increased power, the RX 350 feels heavy and the steering is bland. The Lexus RX 350 can move from 60-0 mph in 6.8 seconds, and braking from 60 mph took 138 feet.

Safety Equipment

Standard on the Lexus RX 350 are driver and front passenger airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, front and rear seat-mounted side airbags, front and rear side-curtain airbags, disc brakes with four-channel ABS and brake assist, stability control, and traction control.
