Overview

The 2007 Mazda B-3000 is a compact pickup truck that is available with a regular cab, or an extended cab with rear-opening doors called the Cab Plus 4. The regular cab is available in a single trim level, the Dual Sport. The extended cab version, the Cab Plus 4, is available in a Base model or the Dual Sport. The Dual Sport trim level is a higher-stance truck with a ground clearance of 7.9 inches. It looks like an off-road vehicle though it is only available in two-wheel drive.

The B-3000 is a pickup truck that is available with a 6.4-foot bed and one of two cabs: a regular cab, or the Cab Plus 4 extended cab with two rear-opening doors and jump seats. The B-3000 hasn’t been updated in over a decade, and it lacks some of the style advancements that competitors have introduced into its trucks. The B-3000 Regular Cab has a wheelbase of 111.6 inches, and a length of 187.7 inches; the Cab Plus 4 has a wheelbase of 125.9 inches and an overall length of 201.7 inches. A bedliner for the 6.4-foot bed is optional.

Standard equipment includes fifteen-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, variable intermittent wipers, privacy glass, manual sliding rear window, painted bumpers, and trailer wiring. Standard equipment on the Cab Plus 4 Base includes fifteen-inch steel wheels with all-season tires, variable intermittent wipers, vinyl floor covering, trailer wiring. The Cab Plus 4 Dual Sport includes the following standard equipment: privacy glass and fender flares. Options include a bedliner.

Interior

The interior of the 2007 B-3000 is plain, yet functional. It features a split-bench front seat that is not very comfortable for long trips. The cabin lacks the updates to the audio system, as well as other creature comforts that truck owners have grown accustomed to.

The B-3000 Regular Cab Dual Sport is equipped with power door locks, power windows, cloth upholstery, 40/60 split-bench front seat, front console with storage, power steering, tilt steering wheel with cruise control functions, 12-volt power outlet, air-conditioning, tachometer, and AM/FM/CD audio system with four speakers. The Cab Plus 4 Base is equipped with split-folding rear seatback, jump seats, rear cup holders, front console with storage, power steering, and AM/FM stereo with two speakers. The Cab Plus 4 Dual Sport includes the following standard equipment: split-folding rear seatback, jump seats, and rear cup holders.

Performance & Handling

The 2007 Mazda B-3000 offers reliability, but hasn’t had any improvements in safety or technology in over a decade. When properly equipped, the B-3000 has a maximum towing capacity of 2480 pounds. The B-3000 Regular Cab Dual Sport is equipped with a three-liter, 148-hp, V-6 engine and a five-speed manual transmission; a five-speed automatic transmission is optional. The Cab Plus 4 Base is equipped with the same three-liter, 148-hp, V-6 engine and five-speed manual transmission; the five-speed automatic is optional.
