2001 Mazda B-4000 Review

A reliable, affordable series of compact trucks.

Reviewed by Automotive on

Overview

The 2001 Mazda B-4000 is the most powerful of the Mazda B-Series of compact trucks. What makes the B-4000 stand out is its big four-liter, single overhead cam V-6, which generates a healthy 207 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. This mighty engine is linked to a five-speed manual transmission. Consumers have got two trim options with the 2001 Mazda B-4000, the Dual Sport and the SE, which features four-wheel drive, skid plates, 16-inch alloy wheels, and chrome finish bumpers. The main draw of the Dual Sport option is that it’s raised suspension gives the look and feel of a four-wheel-drive vehicle without actually having to incur the costs of four-wheel drive.
