2013 Mazda CX-9 Review

Reviewed by Automotive on

Vehicle Overview

Vehicles that seat seven and don't demand your first born in return are very and far between these days. However, the 2013 Mazda CX-9 is one of these modern day unicorns, affording seats for seven passengers, and it won't demand too much in return. A 3.7-liter V-6 engine, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, has little trouble pulling its weight and is fun to drive, too. Obviously, big families usually have a lot of stuff to bring along and, when properly equipped, the 2013 Mazda CX-9 can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

It's blatantly obvious to spot that the 2013 Mazda CX-9 has benefitted from a redesigned exterior styling, one that fits in with the rest of Mazda's line-up. The 2013 Mazda CX-9's interior also gets rebuffed with the addition of a new navigation screen and some other apps including Pandora. The rest of the usual suspects return for the 2013 model year including the 3.7-liter V-6 engine, which is good for 273 horsepower, without burning you at the pump. The EPA estimates that the 2013 Mazda CX-9 averages 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway while the all-wheel drive model scores 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway.

New for 2013

Like the rest of Mazda's current lineup, the 2013 CX-9 went under the knife to match the updated design language, as seen on the front and rear end.
