The 2010 Mazda MAZDA5
is a full-size minivan with room for up to seven passengers and lots of cargo capability. Propelled by a 2.3-liter I-4 engine coupled to a five-speed manual or automatic transmission, the MAZDA5 is nimble and maneuverable for its size. Its safety ratings are good, as well as its fuel economy, for its class, with EPA ratings in the 21 mpg city / 27 mpg highway range.
The MAZDA5 is functional, spacious, and attractive, and it also has an affordable price tag. With lots of space for cargo, a third row, 50/50 split seat, a flexible seating layout, a captain's chair row, sliding rear doors, the MAZDA5 was designed with comfort and utility in mind. The MAZDA5 has many notable features, such as a 17 inch wheel structure, a rear opening hatch with dual stage functions, air conditions, and remote doors with matching body colors.
New for 2010
For 2010, the Mazda MAZDA5 is relatively unchanged. The most significant update is standard dynamic stability control and traction control across the line.
Engine: 2.3L I-4
Transmissions: 5-speed manual, 5-speed automatic
Body Style: Minivan
Trims: Sport Passenger Minivan, Touring Passenger Minivan, Grand Touring Passenger Minivan
On the Outside
While the MAZDA5 is clean and plain, it's sporty and fun. The 17-inch wheels and clear LED taillights add spark to the wedge structure.
From the Inside
Within, the MAZDA5's automatic air conditioning, second row air vents, power windows and locks, and keyless entry are standard on the Sport trim. On the Touring trim, a leather steering wheel, moon roof, and fog lights are added. The Grand Touring trim features heated leather seats and xenon headlamps.
While performance and handling are not necessarily the MAZDA5's strong suits, it's not too bad at cornering. The MAZDA5's 2.3-liter all-aluminum MZR engine with the five-speed manual transmission adds a bit of entertainment to the driving experience.
Standard safety equipment on the MAZDA5 includes driver and passenger front and side airbags, side air curtain airbags, a collapsible brake pedal assembly, traction control, and dynamic stability control.
