2013 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Review

Reviewed by Automotive on

Vehicle Overview

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is one of those vehicles that it's hard to look anywhere without seeing one. There's a reason for that though, and it's because there's five different sedan models, three coupes, and two high-performance models (a coupe and sedan variant). In total, Mercedes-Benz offers the C-Class sedan in C250 Sport, C250 Luxury, C300 Sport-4MATIC, C300 Luxury 4MATIC, and C350 Sport. As for the coupes, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz C-Class can be found in C250, C350, and C350 4MATIC dressings. Mercedes-Benz's high-performance arm Aufrecht Melcher Großaspach, or more commonly known as AMG, has also gotten its collective fingers on the 2013 C-Class and created the C63 AMG. This is available in both coupe and sedan forms. AMG even took it one step further and created the C63 AMG Black Series in case the normal AMG coupe version wasn't enough.

We’ve had the chance to get behind the wheel of both the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and C63 AMG Black Series and can say they both deserve the hype it receives. The 2013 Mercedes-Benz C-Class competes in a tough class crowded by the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, and the new kid on the block--the Cadillac ATS. Nevertheless, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz C-Class still holds its own as each of the aforementioned vehicles have its strengths and weaknesses.

New for 2013

For the 2013 model year, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class welcomes a 3.5-liter V-6 engine for the C300 4MATIC. This new engine boosts performance and fuel economy over the 3.0-liter V-6 engine it's replacing. The C300 4MATIC and C350 also see the addition of start-stop technology as well as mbrace2, and optional features like adaptive cruise control and an all-new Sport Plus package.
