Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I got my 09 G class about a month ago, and I'm pretty satisfied with the rugged side of it. It's got horse power for days with a 5.5 liter V8 engine so I can let loose when I go off-roading. It can go from 0 to 60 in about 8 seconds. I'm a little old school, so it wasn't hard getting used to the rugged retro exterior. The steering is a little heavy and does take some getting used to however. Once you get past the box exterior, the inside is pretty nice. The interior comes installed with a voice command touch screen, which my grand son had to teach me how to use, a digital radio and plug-in outlets for anything music related. I got to hear my music through a high end sound system of twelve speakers which is great for my off roading ventures. This beast gets a lot of attention on the streets for its indifferent look on the road. Nevertheless, don't get used to driving this on any paved terrain, even though it is designed to look like it should. If I had to compare its drive to another vehicle, it would be a military jeep. Be sure to keep your upper body in shape before you drive, or you'll have some trouble turning corners. Safety is good with super thick sheet metal on the frame of the car and a rear point assist camera to help out with blind spots. If you want a luxurious beast for the off-road, and don't mind the retro style exterior, this is a nice choice to consider.
