It is 73.7 inches wide, 58 inches tall, and 205 inches long, with 16.3 cubic feet of cargo capacity with all the seats upright, and 16.3 cubic feet maximum cargo room when the rear seats are collapsed. It stands at 5.8 inches of ground clearance, and runs on a 124.6-inch wheelbase. It is fitted with all-season tires on 18-inch alloy wheels. The exterior features a glass, remote, power-operated sunroof, a rear window defogger, and variable intermittent rain-sensing wipers.

Interior

The 2007 Mercedes-Benz S-Class comes with ample interior room and sports 37.8 inches of headroom, 41.9 inches of legroom, and 59.1 inches of shoulder room in the front. In the rear, it has 38.5 inches of headroom, 42.3 inches of legroom, and 58.7 inches of shoulder room. It comes with several power-driven fittings for more convenience and ease of use, such as the 14-way power buckets seats for the driver and passenger with adjustable back support settings. The S-Class also features heated power mirrors with turn indicators, power windows, remote door locks, power steering, and a steering wheel with cruise control and audio settings mounted on it. The vehicle comes with many storage spots in the interior, including front and rear cup holders, an overhead console, a front console between driver and passenger, front seat-back storage pockets, and door pockets in the front and in the rear. It is fitted with climate zone controls for the driver and passenger, and comes with plenty of leather and polished wood finish on the seats, on the doors, on the gearshift, and on the dashboard.

The 2007 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is fitted with the top-notch electro-chromatic mirror technology on the rearview mirror, illuminating vanity mirrors, and memory settings for three drivers, which includes data for the steering wheel settings. The driver has various driving convenience signals, including warnings for low battery, low fuel, low tire pressure, and high engine temperature. The dashboard comes with a trip computer, a clock, a compass, and 14 speakers and two sub-woofers that support an elaborate audio system fitted with an AM/FM radio and a six-CD changer and player. It comes with wireless telephony with a Bluetooth data link, hands-free phone use capabilities, and a voice-activated navigation system.

Performance & Handling

The 2007 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a performance vehicle with the base engine – a five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive with 5.5-liter V-8, producing 382 hp at 6000 rpm – fitted on the S-Class S550 and the S-Class S550 4MA. For handling and drive safety, it comes with four-wheel Anti-lock Brake Systems (ABS), stability and traction control, electronic brake force distribution system, an emergency braking assist system, and ventilated disc brakes in the front and the rear.
