2010 Mercury Grand Marquis Review

Getting ready for a long siesta

Reviewed by Automotive on

In a Nutshell
The 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis is full-size body-on-frame luxury sedan offered in just one trim level -- the LS trim. Powered by a 4.6-liter V-8 engine married to a four-speed automatic transmission, the Grand Marquis is a rear-wheel drive vehicle.

The Grand Marquis in the LS configuration has a feature list that is lacking. Inside the Grand Marquis, there are audio controls in the steering wheel, a cassette player, power adjustable pedals, and heated seats, but not much more. Both safety ratings and fuel economy are in the marginal range, with EPA-estimated gas miles around 12 mpg city / 17 mpg highway.

New for 2010

The 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis is a carryover with no changes.

Essentials

Engine: 4.6L V-8
Transmission: 4-speed automatic
Body Style: Sedan
Trim: LS Sedan

On the Outside

With its exterior unchanged for years and its close link with the Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis could be mistaken for a police car in poor light.

From the Inside

Also not updated in years, the Mercury Grand Marquis' interior offers a front bench seat and features a huge trunk with 20.6 cubic-feet of capacity.

Driving Performance

The 6-liter V-8 engine packs just 224 horsepower but a hardy 275 lb-ft of torque. An ancient four-speed automatic is the only transmission available.

Safety Equipment

Standard safety equipment on the Mercury Grand Marquis includes four airbags -- dual front and dual front side -- plus seatbelt pre-tensioners and traction control.

Gas Mileage

LS: 16 mpg city/24 mpg highway
