Low-slung and curvaceous, the 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse is a 2 door 4-passenger sports car that come as either a hard top coupe or a soft top convertible. Carried over from a 2007 model, shown here, the Eclipse offers a choice of potent engines and sporty styling.
While the Eclipse Spyder is essentially unchanged, the coupe is now available in the SE trim, which includes minor body enhancements, 18 inch wheels, and SE body graphics distinguishing the Special Edition model from the rest of the lineup.
Power comes from choice of 162 horsepower 2.4-liter inline-4 or 263 horsepower 3.8 liter V6. Power is sent to the front wheels through a choice of a 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic. Transmission choices on the GT trim are a 5-speed automatic and a performance-inspired 6-speed manual.
Fuel economy ranges from 16 miles per gallon city with the V6, up to 28 miles per gallon highway with the inline-4.
Base MSRP for the 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse is $19,999. A GT or SE trim will cost anywhere from $25-30,000 based on options.
