Cadillac needed something special to save it from foreign import luxury brands like Lexus and Mercedes-Benz as those cars began to surge in popularity in the early 21st century. It got that special something when it unveiled the Cadillac CTS (C-Series Touring Sedan) for the first time in the 2003 model year. This car features rear wheel drive, and was the first Cadillac since the 1988 Cimarron to come standard with a manual transmission. The Cadillac CTS was not the first car that was put out by Cadillac and promoted to attract young buyers however it was the first that was really successful at attracting the next generation to Cadillac cars. The next generation of the CTS is being released soon for the 2008 model year, and will feature new and upgraded design to better fit our lifestyles today
