Chrysler Aspen Information
Chrysler launched its first commercialized SUV based on a truck in 2007 called the Chrysler Aspen. The Aspen is based on the same platform as the Dodge Durango. As of 2006, all the American automobile manufacturers have added an SUV to their vehicle line ups. The Aspen name has been used before by Dodge for the twin car of the Plymouth Volare from 1976 to 1980. The new Chrysler Aspen SUV is an all wheel drive that fits eight passengers in three rows of seats. There is only one series available for the Aspen ' the Limited and a few packages are available to be added on for customization. There are three different engines available in the Aspen ' a 5.7L Hemi V8 engine with MDS, a flex-fuel 4.7L V8 that can run on gasoline or E85, and a gasoline-only 4.7L V8 for California and other states where the E85 engine will not meet emission requirements. The Aspen also has a hybrid edition in 2008.
