Chrysler Crossfire Information
The Chrysler Crossfire replaced the Plymouth/Chrysler Prowler in 2003. The Crossfire is a rear wheel drive sports car sold by Chrysler and was designed by Eric Stoddard. The Crossfire is built by Karmann in Germany and shares 39% of its components with Mercedes model vehicles. The chassis of the Crossfire is a combination of a modified C-class engine compartment, S-class rear linkages, a pre-2003 CLK floor plan and new stampings for the rear and side rails. The Crossfire is made in a roadster and coupe style. Production of the Crossfire was stopped in 2007 however; this is a fabulous vehicle that fits nicely into the line-up of Chrysler vehicles. The Crossfire comes with a standard 6-speed manual transmission but a 5-speed automatic transmission can also be chosen. The base model of the Crossfire is sold with a V6, 3.2L, 18-valve SOHC engine
