GMC Acadia Information
GMC's answer to the crossover SUV is the Acadia, which was first introduced in 2006. The standard features that come with the Acadia model are four wheel disc brakes and power steering. The engine is a V6 that produces 275 hp and the transmission is a 6 speed automatic, which delivers better fuel economy and good acceleration when it is needed. The Denali version of Acadia will have a V8 engine. The Acadia comes with either front wheel or all-wheel drive and a towing capacity of 4500 lbs. The eight-passenger capability is nicely fitted into a roomy interior. A major safety feature the Acadia comes equipped with is the six air bags. The Acadia is more like a low centre of gravity car and is not as prone to roll over accidents that have plagued some of the SUVs. GMC has high hopes for its first front wheel drive passenger vehicle.
