Lamborghini Murcielago Information
In 2001, Lamborghini introduced the Murcielago as its flagship high-end sports car. While recognizable by its two gull-wing doors, the Lamborghini Murcielago has established several Lamborghini traditions, mainly an independent double wishbone suspension with a mid-mounted engine on four-wheel drive, as well as an optimal 42 per-cent front and 58 per-cent back weight distribution in a sports car, which handles optimal traction, braking, and handling to the driver. The Lamborghini Murcielago is fitted with a 6.2L V12 engine with options for six-speed manual transmission or six-speed electro-hydraulic controlled auto-clutch transmission. The two-seat coupe has a rear spoiler that can open up to 70' at 140 mph and side mirrors that fold in for enhanced aerodynamics without concessions on stability. A Murcielago LP640 (LP ' Longitudinale Posteriore) coupe was produced in 2006 with the longitudinal mounting of a 6.5L V12 engine. The same facelift was given to the open-top roadster, produced in 2005 with a more aggressive rear flank, and the new model was named LP640.
