Mercury Monterey Information
The Mercury division of the Ford Motor Company manufacturers the Mercury Monterey: a full sized luxury vehicle. The Mercury Monterey was in production for six different generations' a testament to the vehicles longevity in terms of popularity. The first Mercury Montereys were in production from 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri; the vehicle had much in common with the Ford LTD and was later followed by the Mercury Marquis. The original Mercury Monterey was offered on a steady basis for a period of just over twenty years: a new variant of the vehicle emerging every few years. Several successful generations of the vehicle followed, however, as recently as 2004 the Mercury Division named a minivan after the Mercury Monterey: a minivan that was literally identical to the Ford Freestar. The Mercury Monterey Minivan was in production from 2004 to 2007, was manufactured in Oakville Ontario Canada and was the replacement of the Mercury Villager. The Mercury Monterey Minivan was built with a 4.2 Liter Essex V-6 engine under the hood that was coupled with a four speed automatic transmission.
