Pontiac Solstice

A full-sized pickup truck, the Nissan Titan is available in either an extended-cab (King Cab) or crew-cab style with each cab style available in two different bed sizes. The Titan is currently available in four different trim levels: the entry-level XE, the midgrade SE, the luxury-oriented LE, and the off-road oriented PRO-4X. Depending on the trim the Nissan Titan can come with a variety of accessories and options ranging from an upgraded audio system, to navigation systems, to DVD players, to off-road and towing packages.

Designed to be as big and as powerful as other full-sized pickup trucks on the market, the Titan offers competitive amounts of space and power. The Nissan truck offers plenty of cargo room, with beds that are 5.5 feet or 6.5 feet long depending on which cab style is chosen. Long bed options are available for people who need more cargo room with 7 foot and 8 foot long beds available for the Crew cab and King cab respectively. The Nissan Titan has enough power to haul anything with its 5.6 liter V8 engine which produces 317 horsepower and 385 ft/lbs of torque. When properly equipped the Titan is capable of towing a little more then 9,000 pounds.

Currently the Nissan Titan truck is built on the Nissan F-Alpha platform which is the basis for some of Nissan’s other vehicles such as the Xterra, Pathfinder, Armada and the Infiniti QX56. The F-Alpha platform allows cars that are built on top of it to have either independent or solid axle suspension as well as allows for the placement of larger engines.

Overview/History

Since its introduction in 2004 the Nissan Titan has gone through few changes. Notable changes that have been introduced since the Titan first went on the market include the addition of long-wheelbase models, refreshed interior and exterior styling, and the introduction of several new features and options.

Early models of the Nissan Titan have been reported to outperform domestic models very well. However older models such as the ones built in 2007 and earlier lack the options that the newer models have, are only available in one wheelbase length, and have smaller maximum payloads.

Despite being available in a variety of trims and in two cab styles, with each being offered in two bed-sizes, criticisms of the Titan come from the fact that while the truck is available as a King Cab and Crew Cab, it is not offered as a regular cab.

Another criticism of the Nissan Titan is that there is no V6 engine option, making the 5.6 liter V8 the only engine the only option available.
