Replacing the subcompact xA, the original and current xD is a distinctive, four-door hatchback crossover. Powertrain continues to be front-wheel drive, a 1.8 liter inline-four coupled with either standard five-speed manual transmission or optional four-speed automatic. Outside of the introduction of the limited Scion xD Release Series 3.0, there are no significant changes to the xD this model year.
