The new 2015 Lincoln MKC, the automaker's first entry in the small premium crossover utility segment, is set to go on sale next year with a starting price of $33,995, including destination and handling. The brand new model will be offered in three trim levels, including Premiere, Select, and Reserve. Along with the introduction of the all-new model, Lincoln is rolling out the Lincoln Experiences with Approach Detection and an embedded modem for the MyLincoln Mobile App. The new model is set to debut with a turbocharged engine lineup with EcoBoost engines, with an available 275-horsepower, twin-turbocharged EcoBoost engine, along with park assist, Deepsoft Bridge of Weir leather that's free of toxic tanning chemicals, Vista Roof, voice-activated navigation, hands-free liftgate, and other driver-assist technologies. "As the newest entrant in small premium utility, which is the fastest-growing luxury segment, we have to offer our clients a fresh and compelling proposition. The Lincoln MKC offers the lowest base entry price in the segment as well as a host of first-to-segment features," said Matt VanDyke, Director, Global Lincoln, in a statement.
While we may have first seen the 2015 Lincoln MKC Crossover Concept debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, we were able to see it again at the Los Angeles Auto Show a few weeks ago. The model was almost production-ready, and showed how Lincoln plans to move forward by targeting the newly affluent or luxury buyers looking to downsize. With the new model, the automaker further distances itself from Ford, and is essential to Lincoln's future success. Source: Lincoln
