2015 Ford F-150 Up for Punishment in Ford Toughness Contest

By Matthew Askari | January 31, 2014
The 2015 Ford F-150 is currently undergoing toughness and durability tests before it hits showrooms later this year, and now Ford is asking its truck customers and enthusiasts to get creative. A new contest allows fans the opportunity to dream up grueling challenges, to prove the truck is "Built Ford Tough."
Eric Peterson, Ford F-150 marketing manager, said "We're looking for people who know how to punish a truck. Built Ford Tough isn't just a tagline; it's the philosophy that drives us every day to make the best trucks out there, and it's what has made F-Series the No. 1 truck for nearly 40 years."
Ford will select up to five winners, and film them for a week while they get a chance to punish the F-150 in a way of their choosing. Ford suggests it could be a grueling off-road challenge, or an especially demanding work site, whatever enthusiasts and drivers can think up. Video crews will document everything along the way, and the videos will be posted to Ford's YouTube truck page. Fans can enter on the BuiltToughTest.com site before May 31 2014, and a winner will be announced on September 1. The 2015 Ford F-150 features a new steel frame, and aluminum-alloy body, and has been the best seller in America for nearly 4 decades, though several states have vehicles that outsell the F-Series, as we recently learned.
