The Mercedes-Benz stage at the Detroit Auto Show wouldn't be complete without its new flagship, the S-Class. For the show, Mercedes is bringing both the S600. While we can expect to see the V-12-powered S600 launch within the next few months. The S600 will get its power from a 6.0-liter V-12 biturbo engine that produces 523 horsepower, and will be available exclusively as a long-wheelbase model. Ola Kallenius, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Cars, said in a recent statement that the "S-Class has always been the embodiment of our claim to deliver the very best in terms of both technology and design. And our flagship model, the S600 epitomizes the focus of our development work, the 'Essence of Luxury,' in a way that no other model can." Indeed, the 2014 S-Class has already won numerous accolades for a new standard in refinement and technology. The smoothness only a V-12 can provide should make this seriously posh car a one step closer to filling the role vacated by Maybach two years ago.
The new model also comes with an array of new features, including a standard head-up display, a touchpad to write letters, numbers, and special characters to control certain infotainment functions, and standard Collision Prevention Assist Plus.
