2015 Chrysler 200 Guns for Ford Fusion

By | February 05, 2014
The all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 made its official debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, and while it was aiming for many targets in the midsize segment, Chrysler has decided to aim at the Ford Fusion. Although Toyota and Honda have long been the forerunners of the segment with the Camry and Accord, respectively, the Fusion now rivals those vehicles in reliability and quality. When designing the new 200, Chrysler set about to defeat the Ford Fusion by matching or beating it feature by feature. "We went head to head and decided that we were going to beat the Fusion on day one. We're actually beating Ford at their own game, and I will tell you they are great," said Al Gardner, Chrysler brand president, in a recent interview. Not only did the Chrysler team take what made the Ford Fusion such a good vehicle and improve on it, they made the price slightly lower to make it more competitive. Taking a look at the appearance of the new 2015 Chrysler 200, it will turn heads with its new, modern design, making it instantly recognizable when on the road.
Even with a target on its back, Ford isn't worried about the competition it'll receive from Chrysler. Fusion Chief Engineer Todd Soderquist said in a recent interview that "With the new Fusion, we set out to be best in class. We're flattered others are using our Fusion as the benchmark." The Chrysler 200 has a starting price of $21,700 and is set to go on sale this spring. Source: Detroit News
