Acura Video Features NSX Concept, RLX Flagship, and Four Mechanical Horses

By | February 10, 2014
Acura has a history of producing creative commercials, but what can top four mechanical horses and the beautiful NSX Concept driving along a glittery racetrack? In its new "Let the Race Begin" campaign, Acura shows off its lineup of performance-oriented cars. Is this the brand's way of finally asserting its dominance in the world of sports cars? The commercial starts off with horses that, while metallic, closely resemble the actual animal in their movements. This is probably because Acura first filmed the commercial with live horses that were later converted to metallic creatures with some remarkable post-production work from MPC Los Angeles. As the horses battle it out, an Acura RLX Sport Hybrid flagship sedan suddenly emerges as the "dark horse," and is soon followed by the NSX Concept and TLX prototype. Acura is choosing to bring out this new spot in a similar way as it did its famous Super Bowl commercial. The new television commercial debuted during prime time network sports programming this past weekend and will continue to air throughout the month of February. Michael Accavitti, senior vice president of American Honda Motor, said, "We think sports programming provides us with a great context to showcase the incredible athleticism of these new Acura vehicles and the competitive spirit of the Acura brand."
