2015 Nissan Murano Shows Some Sheetmetal Before New York Auto Show

While the midsize two-row crossover segment isn't the most exciting part of the car market, Nissan has seemingly tried to buck that trend with the Murano. Entering its third generation, the 2015 Nissan Murano is being teased ahead of the New York Auto Show, showing off some serious curves. Not that any of that is unexpected. From the 10-second clip we have, you can clearly see a design inspired by the Nissan Resonance concept crossover from last year's Detroit Auto Show. But before that, we had some idea of what to expect because of previously seen 2015 Nissan Murano prototypes testing out in the wild. The 2015 Nissan Murano is expected to come with similar powertrains as the larger Nissan Pathfinder: A 265-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 and possibly a supercharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid combo good for 250 horsepower. Both engines come paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission.
We don't know much else yet, but we can tell you that the 2015 Nissan Murano will have a larger navigation screen, radical styling, and available all-wheel drive. Funky any way you look at it, the Nissan Murano has carved out a niche for itself as a premium midsize crossover. Not expected to disappoint, we think the 2015 Nissan Murano will continue in the same oddball tradition of its predecessors, albeit no longer with the CrossCabriolet convertible version, unfortunately.
