Lexus NX to Make Official Debut in Beijing

By | March 04, 2014
Last year, Lexus showed off the LF-NX crossover concept, featuring extreme exterior styling that had many talking. While it was rumored that the production model would debut at the 2014 Geneva International Motor Show, Lexus has decided to debut the new model at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show later this year. Slated to go under the Lexus RX, the new NX midsize crossover will enhance brand recognition both in the states and in Europe, where smaller crossovers are more accepted. During a presentation at the Geneva Motor Show, Alain Uyttenhoven, Head of Lexus Europe said, "The new NX will bring a significant boost to Lexus' presence in Europe. It's the right car in the right segment." The new Lexus NX will be a hybrid compact crossover, powered by the Lexus Hybrid Drive system that has been specially tuned for SUV performance. We don't know which details from the concept will make it into production, but we have a feeling the designers will tone down some of the more aggressive styling to make it more practical for a wider range of buyers.
While the new model will make its debut in the coming months, a U.S. debut may be just around the corner. We'll keep you updated as we learn more about the new Lexus NX midsize crossover. Source: Lexus
