2014 BMW M235i Taken to the Track on Latest Episode of Ignition

By | April 07, 2014
Those who know what BMW's performance cars are capable of usually salivate at the thought of any M car. But how does the all-new M235i live up to these high expectations? In the latest episode of "Ignition," Motor Trend puts the all-new BMW M235i to the test. While road tester Carlos Lago praised the car for its power delivery, balanced chassis, and smooth transmission, he did point out that this car is not quite like other M cars from BMW. Despite the multiple "M" badges on the exterior, Ignition still at one point calls it a "faux M car." The 2014 BMW 235i essentially replaces the outgoing 1 Series, but is slightly larger and better proportioned. It features a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder good for 320 horsepower, paired with rear-wheel drive. In Ignition's testing, the car was able to hit 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds.
We recently got to test drive the all-new BMW M235i and were impressed by its excellent handling, responsive steering, and surprisingly comfortable interior. We think plenty of real world buyers will enjoy this car. To see how the M235i performs on the track, watch this video by Motor Trend. Complete with windy roads, a hot lap with Randy Pobst at Streets of Willow, and plenty of drifting. Source: Motor Trend Channel on YouTube
