2015 Acura RDX Goes on Sale Today
The 2015 Acura RDX goes on sale today for $34,895, or just $375 more than the outgoing model. One of the top-sellers among luxury crossovers, the Acura RDX carries over its 3.5-liter V-6 engine and six-speed automatic transmission for the new model year. Standard features include heated power front seats, leather materials, power moonroof, Pandora interface, SMS text messaging, keyless entry, noise control, and rearview camera. Adding all-wheel drive will tack on $1,400 to the base price of the car. Another option is the Technology Package, which includes navigation, a hard drive with 60 gigabytes of storage, real-time traffic and weather, dual-zone auto climate control, upgraded sound system, power rear tailgate, and bi-xenon lights. This package is available for an extra $3,700 over the standard model. Buyers have to also factor in a $895 destination charge when they purchase any version of the 2015 Acura RDX. The RDX, which was redesigned for 2014, received a five star rating in government crash tests. Safety features include six airbags, active head restraints, and front seatbelt pretensioners. It also has collision avoidance technologies as well as stability assist and traction control systems. This crossover's biggest competitor is probably the Lexus RX, which has also performed well on the market. The Lexus RX comes with a similar powertrain and several luxury features but is more expensive, starting at $40,795. Other competitors to the Acura RDX include the Audi Q5 and BMW X3. Source: Honda
