2015 Ford Mustang Gets Electronic Line-Lock

By | April 21, 2014
The Ford Mustang goes hand in hand with drag races, whether sanctioned or not, and the automaker wants to give all drivers access to technology that will offer the benefits of a mechanical system without having to modify the brakes to the 2015 Mustang GT. This new feature will be standard on the all-new model. Steve Ling, Ford car marketing manager, said in a statement, "Competition has been an integral part of the Ford Mustang lifestyle since its earliest days 50 years ago. We know our customers, and we wanted to provide a unique feature for those wishing to take full advantage of the increased capability offered by this new Mustang GT at the drag strip." With the electronic line-lock feature enabled, the driver can release the brake and the hydraulic control unit will keep the front brakes locked while the rear brakes are released. This lets the driver warm up the rear wheels for max grip without having to balance between the brake and gas or install a mechanical line-lock. While not all customers will take their new Mustang GTs to the strip, they can still benefit from the new standard features to get the most out of their cars. The electronic line-lock and launch control provide consistent performance, but the electronic line-lock is meant only for the track.
