2015 Lexus NX First Look

The Lexus NX is an all-new model for 2015. Positioned below the top-selling RX, the 2015 Lexus NX may just help draw in a whole new set of buyers to the Lexus brand.

What's New

Lexus has accomplished two major "firsts" with this model. Not only is it the brand's first compact crossover, it is also the first turbocharged model in the Lexus lineup. This powerful vehicle is making its debut at the 2014 Beijing auto show before it arrives in the U.S. and other markets around the globe.
While it may be the smallest Lexus crossover, it looks far from entry level. Chiseled body lines, bright LED headlamps, and a bold spindle grille give this Lexus a surprisingly aggressive exterior. Topping off the look are standard 17-inch or optional 18-inch wheels.
Technology is a huge theme on the inside of the vehicle. The NX offers a model-exclusive wireless charging tray, which can charge phones on the go. Other technology features include a touch interface and touchpad, head-up display, radar cruise control, and blind spot monitor.

Engine and Drivetrain

Two engines are coming to the U.S. The first is a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine. The second is a "highly efficient" hybrid. Lexus has not yet released information on available horsepower and torque in these models. We also do not have information on fuel economy at this time.

Our Thoughts

When we first saw the LF-NX Concept, a preview to the production NX, we thought it was too good to be true. Apparently, we were proven wrong. Lexus managed to retain many of the aggressive style elements from the prototype, and we think this design will appeal to young urban drivers. The introduction of a turbocharged model in the Lexus lineup couldn't have come any sooner, as the trend has long been moving in this direction. We can't wait to drive the NX. Could we get the F Sport model, please?
